お世話になっております。インターンのゆうです。今週で私のインターンシップは4週目になります。今週はエフエスナゴヤと一緒に病院での見学を行いました。エフエスナゴヤはEBAホールディングスのグループ会社の一つで、ファシリティとサービスの略称となります。その名前の通り、医療ガス設備の点検、更新、および医療用電気器設備の点検業務を主に担当しています。朝は通常通りに地下鉄で本社に向かい、その後は萩さんに車で案内され、今日の目的地の一つである名古屋市中村区にある偕行会城西病院に到着しました。
Hello, I’m Yu, the intern. This week marks my fourth week of internship. This week, I visited a hospital with F&S Nagoya. F&S Nagoya is one of the group companies of EBA Holdings, abbreviated from “Facility and Service.” As the name suggests, it mainly handles inspection, renewal, and maintenance of medical gas equipment and medical electrical equipment. In the morning, I commuted to the headquarters as usual via subway and then was guided by Ms. Hagi by car to one of today’s destinations, the Kaikoukai Jousei Hospital located in Nakamura-ku, Nagoya.
偕行会城西病院に到着すると、同行した島林さんに会い、お互いに自己紹介と名刺交換をしました。その後、病院内の医療ガス設備を保管している倉庫に案内されました。医療ガスはこの倉庫で製造・保管され、配管で各病室に供給されるため、非常に重要な場所です。病院全体に供給されるため、機器やボンベは家庭用と比べて大きく、様々な機能があります。大部分の機器はボンベに貯蔵された高圧のガスや液化ガスを患者の吸入に適した圧力や状態に調整します。主なものには酸素、窒素、および麻酔用の笑気があります。また、空気を圧縮して貯蔵するための圧縮機や、患者のたんを吸引するための吸引ポンプもあります。機器の役割が紹介された後、島林さんは定期的に消耗品の点検と交換を行う作業や、必要に応じて装置の修理を行うことです。また、作業プロセスを写真やテキストで記録し、参照用に保存しています。
Upon arrival at Kaikoukai Jousei Hospital, I met with Mr. Shimabayashi, my accompanying colleague, and we exchanged introductions and business cards. Afterwards, we were guided to the warehouse storing medical gas equipment within the hospital. This warehouse is crucial as it manufactures and stores medical gases, which are then distributed to various hospital rooms via pipelines. Unlike household equipment, the equipment here is larger and has various functions since it serves the entire hospital. Most equipment adjusts high-pressure or liquefied gases stored in cylinders to suitable pressure and conditions for patient to inhale. Major gases include oxygen, nitrogen, and anesthesia gas. Additionally, there are compressors for compressing and storing air and suction pumps for aspirating patient phlegm. After introducing the roles of the equipment, Mr. Shimabayashi explained the tasks of regularly inspecting and replacing consumables and repairing equipment as needed. They also documented the work process with photos and text for reference.
作業が一段落した後、他のスタッフと一緒にコーヒーを飲んだり休憩したりしていました。スタフのみんなは長い間知り合いのようで、お互いに理解があり、雰囲気はとてもリラックスしており、上下関係は特に感じられませんでした。
After completing the tasks, I joined other staff for coffee and breaks. The staff seemed like long-time acquaintances, understanding each other well, and creating a relaxed atmosphere without a noticeable hierarchy.
昼休みの間、萩さんに連れられて近くの味噌ラーメン屋でランチを食べ、楽しい時間を過ごしました。このインターンシップで何度かおごってもらえることがとても嬉しく、感謝しています。
During lunch break, Ms. Hagi took me to a nearby miso ramen shop for lunch, where we had a delightful time. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be treated to lunch several times during this internship.
昼休みの後、萩さんに車で愛知県がんセンターに連れて行ってもらいました。偕行会城西病院よりも規模が大きく、エフエスナゴヤのスタッフが定期的に点検作業を行っているところを見学しました。偶然にも、その日は研究棟に故障した装置があり、私はスタッフと一緒にその原因を特定しました。この出来事により、多くの研究者が訪れ、研究室は賑やかになりました。また、さまざまな測定や製造業者への問い合わせを通じて、適切なモデルを求めました。印象的だったのは、島林さんが装置に関する問題を迅速に判断し、他のスタッフに説明する様子です。島林さんはリラックスした雰囲気を作り出すだけでなく、一定のプロフェッショナリズムを保ちつつ行動している姿をを見て、彼の姿勢に感銘を受けました。また、島林さんや他のエフエスナゴヤのスタッフから、彼らが定期的に関連する研修に参加して産業に関する知識を向上させていることも聞くことができました。
After lunch, Ms. Hagi drove me to Aichi Cancer Center. It’s larger in scale compared to Kaikoukai Jousei Hospital, and we observed F&S Nagoya staff conducting regular inspection work there. Coincidentally, there was a malfunctioning equipment in the research building that day, and I watched and learned about how the staff identifying its cause. This event attracted many researchers, making the labs lively. Through various measurements and inquiries to manufacturers, we sought the appropriate model. I was impressed by Mr. Shimabayashi’s ability to quickly assess equipment issues and explain them to other staff. Seeing him create a relaxed atmosphere while maintaining a certain level of professionalism was impressive. I also learned from Mr. Shimabayashi and other F&S Nagoya staff that they regularly participate in relevant training to enhance their industry knowledge.
